Sales Resume Template
Sales managers read a resume for numbers first: quota, attainment, deal size, and how you built pipeline. If those numbers sit in a graphic or a sidebar, the ATS may never pass them along. This template keeps every number in plain text under the job it belongs to, so it reads cleanly for SDR, account executive, and field sales roles.

Layout: Compact
Sales resumes carry a lot of numbers. The Compact layout fits quota and attainment for several roles on one page while staying single-column and parse-safe.
Section order: Summary, Experience, Skills, Education. Sales managers want your numbers first, so Experience goes right after the summary.
How to fill in a sales representative resume
Lead every role with attainment
Quota and percentage attained, for example 118% of a $900K annual quota. Put it in the first bullet under each job, not in a separate achievements box that may not parse.
Say what you sold and to whom
Product type, segment (SMB, mid-market, enterprise), deal size, and sales cycle length. A recruiter matching you to a role needs this context more than adjectives.
Show how you build pipeline
Meetings booked, sourced pipeline, conversion from first call to opportunity. This matters most for SDR and early AE roles, where self-sourcing is the job.
Name your CRM and tools
Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Gong. They are common filters in sales job postings and tell the hiring manager how quickly you can ramp.
Turn duties into results
Recruiters skim for outcomes. Rewrite task bullets with what changed and how you know.
Before
Exceeded sales targets.
After
Closed $1.06M in new ARR against a $900K quota (118%), ranking 2nd of 14 mid-market AEs in FY2025.
Before
Made cold calls to prospects.
After
Booked 22 qualified meetings a month through calls and Outreach sequences, sourcing $1.4M in pipeline over the year.

Sales Representative resume FAQ
What numbers should a sales resume include?
Quota, attainment percentage, average deal size, and sales cycle at minimum. SDRs should add meetings booked and sourced pipeline. Use ranks such as 2nd of 14 reps when you have them.
What if I missed quota?
Lead with what you did control: pipeline created, win rate, largest deal, or growth over the prior rep in the territory. Do not invent attainment; references and offer checks can expose it.
Is this template right for SDR and account executive roles?
Yes. The layout is the same; the bullets change. SDRs lead with meetings and pipeline, AEs with closed revenue and attainment, account managers with retention and expansion.
