Project Manager Resume Template
A project manager resume is judged on delivery: what you shipped, how big it was, and whether it landed on time and on budget. This template frames every role around those facts, with room for PMP or Agile certifications that recruiters filter on.

Layout: Compact
PMs often have long histories with many projects. The Compact layout fits more on two pages while staying single-column and parse-safe.
Section order: Summary, Skills, Experience, Certifications, Education. Put PMP or CSM in your header title if the posting requires it.
How to fill in a project manager resume
Every role needs size and outcome
Budget, team size, timeline, and the result. 'Delivered a $2.4M ERP rollout across 3 sites, two weeks early' says more than five bullets about meetings.
Match the methodology in the posting
If the role says Agile and you ran Scrum ceremonies, say so plainly. If it says waterfall or stage-gate, show you have run that too. Recruiters search for the exact term.
Show how you handled risk
One bullet about a project that went sideways and what you did is one of the strongest signals you can give. Keep it factual.
Certifications go in their own section
PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PRINCE2. Include the issuing body and year so an ATS can match them and a recruiter can verify them.
Turn duties into results
Recruiters skim for outcomes. Rewrite task bullets with what changed and how you know.
Before
Managed projects for the operations team.
After
Delivered a $2.4M warehouse management system rollout across 3 sites two weeks ahead of plan and 4% under budget.
Before
Ran meetings with stakeholders.
After
Ran weekly steering reviews with 9 department heads, cutting average decision turnaround on change requests from 10 days to 3.

Project Manager resume FAQ
Do I need a PMP to get project manager interviews?
Not always, but many corporate and government postings list it as required or preferred, and the ATS filters on it. If you hold it, put it in your title line and certifications section.
How long should a project manager resume be?
One page under about 7 years of experience, two pages beyond that. Cut older roles down to one or two lines rather than shrinking the font.
Should I list every project I managed?
No. Choose the three to five projects per role that are closest to the job you want, and quantify each.
