Include high school when it is your highest completed or in-progress credential, when you graduated within the last one to two years with no college degree yet, or when the posting requires a high school diploma or GED and you have no other education line that satisfies that filter. Omit or shorten it once a college degree, substantial college coursework, or multiple years of relevant paid work makes high school redundant on page one.

Step 2: Move activities out of Education
DECA, varsity sports, and volunteer roles belong under Experience with Month Year dates and metric bullets. Education holds the credential line only.
Before: Education lists high school with six clubs and no college line.
After: State University expected May 2027 first; high school removed; DECA and volunteer moved to Experience with dates and metrics.
Step 3: Order Education by highest credential first
College enrolled or complete goes above high school. High school only leads when you have no college yet. Never list high school above a bachelor's degree unless you're still in high school dual-enrollment with a clear date structure.
If you select bachelor's in the portal form, do not lead with high school on the PDF.
Step 4: Trim when college or work carries the story
Once a degree line and two plus years of relevant paid work answer the education question, high school is dead weight on page one.
