Clinical proof belongs in bullets under dated employers, not as adjectives. "Wellness influencer" is a mood. "Provided sexuality counseling for couples in outpatient clinic under LMFT supervision, documented treatment plans in SimplePractice within 48 hours" is a hiring metric.

And the credential line matters. "LMFT, California, 123456, Active" plus "AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, 2025" beats a vague sex therapist label with no board numbers. Sourcers search license tokens and AASECT candidacy status. They do not infer them from a workshop certificate image.

If you stacked practicum, associate, and staff roles across two agencies, date each leg. Don't merge three semesters into one paragraph. Pair gaps with employment gap examples recruiters accept so exam prep or training reads as a labeled block, not unemployment.

Confidentiality rules still apply on the resume. Settings, modalities, and supervisor names are enough for a screener. Client stories and identifying details stay off the page.

Confirm AASECT pathway requirements before you type candidacy status. The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists lists certification and supervision rules employers expect you to mirror in plain text.

Social Security numbers and client identifiers stay off the resume. Don't paste session themes or identifiable case notes. One plain supervised-hours line is enough for screening when the posting asks for training totals.

Edge case: Posting wants telehealth. Add a bullet on secure video platforms and state licensure for remote clients. Don't list telehealth only under Skills.

Date master's training and licensure steps like corporate jobs

Month Year on degree conferral, associate license issue date, and AASECT milestones. Workday date fields hate "2020-2022" inside a sentence. They want endpoints they can map.

Spell credentials. Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. Acronyms can follow. Don't rely on "counseling degree" as a parser token.

Couples, trauma-informed, and sexuality modalities belong in bullets beside the clinic where you used them. Three dated bullets beat a dumped modality list with no employer.

Do not imply doctoral training you did not complete. Lead with master's and license lines. If you hold additional certificates, park them in Certifications with month and year.

Mirror the clinical setting the posting actually runs

Sex therapist on a req can mean private practice group, hospital outpatient, nonprofit agency, or telehealth panel. Mirror the posting's setting words in bullet one. Then prove supervision and modality fit in the next two bullets.

Edge case: Split time between two agencies while collecting hours. List each employer as a separate dated line with hour totals. Don't collapse six months into "various clinics" with no dates.

Write the header. Date every agency role. Name supervision and modalities in bullets. Match the clinic model in the req. Then leave the inspirational quote block off the PDF.
